Dr. Kang graduated from Oregon State University with a M. Eng. in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science in 1988 and received his Ph.D. in Manufacturing Engineering at Northwestern University in 1993. Dr. Kang was a project leader in the field of machine control system at Hyundai MOBIS Technological Research Institute from 1994 to 1999 and he was a Senior Patent Examiner at the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) from 1999 to 2004. He became a Korean patent attorney in 2004 and has been partner with ORIGIN since 2009.

His area of expertise lies principally in the field of Robot and Machine Control, Embedded System Design, CNC Controller as well as Intelligent Manufacturing System. He is a co-author of “Theory and Design of CNC systems, Springer Series in Advanced Manufacturing, Springer-Verlag.”
